Year 11 students celebrated today as GCSE results at Colfe’s kept pace with last week’s
outstanding performance at A Level last week, and maintained the pattern of improvement of recent
years. 19 pupils gained A* or A grades in all their GCSE subjects, including Ran Xiong (11A*s),
Ciara Muldowney, Sam Moody, Stewart Cox, Fran Debney, Chloe Gabriel, Rebecca Murdoch, Heather
Tookey, Olivia Gilbert-Smith, Alex Holt-Kulapalan, Ruth Storrs-Fox and Jessica Stuart.
Results in Maths and Science were particularly strong this year, supported by high achievement
in the creative subjects, including Art, Design Technology and Drama. Particular congratulations
must go to Aimee McCusker, who received one of the highest marks in the country in Design &
Technology. (She came in the top 10 out of 7,040 entries).
This year’s group have been consistently hard-working and they deserve their success. Their
results will place them in contention for places at the top universities in two years’ time and
they can look forward to the Sixth Form with confidence.
