Once again Sports Day was a great success. The largest number of participants to date took part in the programme which again included ‘Invitational’ and ‘Open’ events in addition to the finals. The weather stayed kind throughout the day and allowed the competitors to showcase their talent. There were six new school records on the day with Tom Chapman (Year 10) in the 200m and Megan Deverson in the Year 8 High Jump competition particularly impressive.
The highlight of the day was the two ‘open’ 1500m races which attracted over 50 pupils, all of whom were cheered on by the rest of the school who joined us a Sutcliffe Park for a tremendous day’s athletics.
