The Tempest storm

After several weeks of hard work rehearsing scenes, choreographing dances and learning lines; Year 6 finally staged their summer production of The Tempest. For the first time in several years, the performances were over two nights – both of which were hugely enjoyed by the audience.. Every pupil was involved in telling the tale of the wronged duke Prospero and the adventures and lessons learned on his magical isle.

The children made a fantastic effort to portray their characters with real drama. From a drunken butler to a deformed monster, every actor and actress delivered their lines and acted their part with total commitment. Some of the parts had a great deal of lines, including original Shakespearean soliloquies which the children were able to bring to life with real feeling.
Besides the acting,  the powerful dances, atmospheric music and super costumes all go to  prove once again that Year 6 have the skills and ambition to produce drama of the highest standard. A thank you to all pupils, parents and staff who helped make The Tempest such a success!
