Richard Russell - Headmaster
Richard Russell was appointed in September 2005. He
began his teaching career at Sevenoaks School in 1983 as a Classics teacher.
As International Baccalaureate Co-ordinator and Director of Studies,
he managed and oversaw the expansion and development of the IB programme at
Sevenoaks.
In 1998 he moved to Forest School as Deputy Warden. Forest is the only major
independent school in London's East End. It caters for boys and girls of all ages.
Richard Russell was educated at Methodist College Belfast and Jesus College
Cambridge where he graduated in Classics. During the latter part of his time at university and the
early part of his teaching career he participated in four seasons of Mediterranean
archaeology.
His current interests include golf and Sicily, but not simultaneously.
